Endangered Species

Biological Surveys, Inc. performs endangered species surveys in accordance with the United States Fish and Wildlife Service and Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries Natural Heritage Program. We have successfully completed multiple Red-Cockaded Woodpecker and Gopher tortoise surveys. We have also completed Gulf Sturgeon and Manatee surveys for the surrounding bayous, rivers and Lake Pontchartrain.

 

Mitigation

Biological Surveys, Inc. has extensive experience with mitigation banking and permitte responsible mitigation (PRM) projects. We are in the process of establishing 2 pine savanna banks in St. Tammany Parish.

 

Monitoring

We offer survival monitoring of restoration sites, baseline vegetation surveys, and timber cruising.

 

Restoration

Biological Surveys, Inc. has been involved in many restoration efforts ranging from the simple re-planting of pipeline Right-of-Ways to complex, large scale marsh creation projects.

 

Permitting

We coordinate permit and compliance with local, state, and federal agencies including Louisiana Coastal Management, United States Army Corps of Engineers, Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, and Louisiana Department of Water Quality.

 

Wetland Delineations

We have performed over 2,000 wetland delineations and environmental consultations on sites ranging from individual lots to large tracts up to 2,000 acres.
